Invicta Dynamos Head Coach Kevin Parrish has today hailed the efforts of his players following their recent outing against the Chelmsford Chieftains.
He has suggested that the future is now looking bright at the club after recent accommodation issues were resolved and discussions with potential new investors were ongoing.
Speaking to the club’s official website Head Coach Kevin Parrish praised his team after their performance over the weekend and suggested that the Dynamos were on the brink of a turnaround following a tempestuous few weeks in Gillingham.
Parrish said, “It has been a rough time to be associated with hockey in Kent but matters have started to turn in our favour and everybody within the camp has a very positive attitude for the future. Accommodation problems unnerved a number of our players but the boys are now settled in and enjoying their ‘new home’ and their performances on the ice have already been the better for it”.
The Head Coach then gave his views on Sunday’s home defeat to Chelmsford when he said, “To lose was a tough blow but the lads gave it absolutely everything and I was very proud of their display. There was no question that, with our short bench, we were up against the odds, but the players refused to roll over and, if they can maintain that fantastic attitude and level of passion and commitment, then we will have far more games go in our favour than against us”.
As well as praising the efforts of his squad, Head Coach Kevin Parrish also paid tribute to the club’s supporters when he said, “The fans deserve a lot of credit for their attitude and unswerving loyalty to the team on Sunday. They were singing from the moment the puck hit the ice to the final buzzer and their backing continued to spur the players on despite their tired legs. Club’s often describe their own supporters as ‘the best in the league’ but I genuinely believe ours are the greatest around and we continue to be very grateful for their passion and, in recent times, their understanding”.
Finally the Head Coach suggested that the upcoming week was set to be key in the Dynamos’ 2011/12 campaign as he revealed the team were in discussions with possible new additions to both the playing staff and club sponsors.
Kevin Parrish said, “It is set to be a busy few days in Gillingham and hopefully, very shortly, we will have some good news to provide to the supporters. The club has today met with a couple of potential new investors and news will be released as soon as any deals are finalised. In addition, we also hope to have some player news to announce before the end of the week before we host the Wightlink Raiders on Saturday evening”.
Meanwhile Club Director Jackie Mason also commented on the positive vibe currently surrounding the Silver Blades Ice Rink Gillingham when she added, “After the last month the feeling inside the club is that the Dynamos are now a team on the up. I would like to thank everyone, including both the players and fans, for their tremendous support over the last few weeks and feel that, if we concentrate on the positives, we can all take the club forward together”.
